Summer can be ruthless on cars, especially during high temperatures. You’re probably sitting inside an air conditioned cubicle enjoying the cool air while the heat is destroying your car batteries and stressing the cooling system and tires. Oh yeah! Easier prey for the sun is your car exteriors. The least you can do for the exteriors would be clean the car and polish them regularly. I completely understand car washes are expensive these days. It costs INR 400 – 850 for a wash. If you care about your car’s exterior, please avoid quickie car washes with the big brushes that can do more harm than good and do a DIY car wash with good car care product which will achieve better results. Before you start, you'll need the following car cleaning supplies: • A large bucket • A water hose • Sonax gloss shampoo • Sonax Car Polish • Sonax Profline Headlight polish • Xtreme Microfiber cloth and sponge Once you have all your car wash products, you can start to wash your car! Remember not to wash your car on a sunny or overly warm day, as this will cause water to dry out too quickly and leave you with soap spots on your car. Either wait for an overcast day, or pull the car into the shade before you begin. • Start by hosing the whole car. Rinse your car first to remove larger pieces of dirt which can scratch your car when washing. • Dilute 1 cap of Sonax gloss shampoo into 5 litres of water. Now gently scrub down the bodywork of the car with your Sonax Sponge. Use your toothbrush or detailing brush to get dirt out of cracks in the bodywork. After the hand wash hose down the vehicle. • Before protecting the paintwork, the vehicle needs to be completely dry. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the vehicle. • Sonax Polish for extra gloss. Sonax Car Polish can be applied by hand or with a dual-action polisher, and the conditioning oils add depth of color and maximum gloss prior to waxing, especially on dark colored vehicles. • Special abrasive polish for freshening up yellowed and matt plastic headlights. Removes minor to medium scratches, restores the original clarity. It ensures an optimum luminous efficiency. Increases driving safety and enhances the overall appearance. For front and rear headlights. • Maintain a shine and protection - After you've done the hard work of washing, cleaning, and protecting your car, you'll need to take steps to maintain its appearance. • Keep a spray detailer and clean microfiber cloth in your trunk, which can come in handy for quickly removing dust, overspray, and bird droppings. • Clean the windows. Soap and water can do the trick, but glass cleaner will always give you better results. • Lastly, wash the wheels. Let there be no excuse for a shabby looking vehicle! Follow these tips and give it a go yourself.
